Mindful Adventures In Nature
“Mindful Adventures in Nature” is a series of guided adventures (fun and engaging activities) that gently and playfully guides one’s attention to create awareness, appreciation and connection with nature for kids of all ages. Backed by research, activities include nature games, mindfulness, music, art and other creative ways to cultivate a compassionate connection with nature, one’s self and others. The curriculum is broadly based on the work of world-renowned naturalist, nature guide and author, Joseph Cornell and his “Sharing Nature with Children” activities and his Flow Learning™ Method (Cornell, 2015). It also is based on the work of a variety of yoga, mindfulness and meditation experts (i.e. Sadhguru, , , nature guides, forest therapists and authors, i.e. Robert Plotkin (Soulcraft), Richard Louv (Last Child in the Woods and Vitamin N), Mark Coleman (Awake in the Wild).
Exploring Sound and SilenceUsing a variety of indigenous instruments including drums, singing bowls, flues and our voices we will explore deep listening and the healing meditative and connecting aspects of sound, breath, vibration and harmonic resonance.
